A December that overlaps with 尾牙
In Taipei, the company year-end party (尾牙) season starts in mid-December, so many offices hold a Christmas lunch and a 尾牙 within weeks of each other. Caterers and venues are busy at the same time, so settle your date, guest count and service level early. If you are planning both, our 尾牙 menu guide shows how to build a buffet that works for a crowd.
Many Taipei teams mix local and international colleagues. A holiday menu that is mostly Western with a few Taiwanese and Japanese dishes keeps everyone at the same table.
What we serve for a Christmas or holiday party
- Starters and platters: prosciutto platter, German sausages and garlic bread.
- Mains: herb chicken roulade, duck breast with orange sauce, French lamb chops and slow-simmered bolognese.
- Something for the vegetarians: avocado citrus salad, Korean pancake and other vegetable dishes, labelled and counted.
- Desserts: tiramisu, chocolate mousse, macarons and Belgian waffles.
- Roast turkey and ham are not on the standard menu list. Ask the team if you want something similar and they will say what can be arranged.
Guest count and service level
- 10 to 25 guests: a drop-off buffet or sharing platters for an office lunch. Your team sets out and clears.
- 25 to 60 guests: buffet setup with warmers, serving utensils and reusable serveware, collected after the party.
- 60 to 100+ guests, or an evening party with speeches and games: staffed service, so staff replenish the food and clear plates while you host.
- Table decoration is an optional line in the quote.
Planning the party
Agree where the food goes in the programme. Serve before gift exchanges and games, so no one is queuing during them. If drinks are separate, say so, and tell us if your building restricts alcohol. For a lunchtime party, confirm that food is ready before the first speech, and give a clear collection time if you chose reusable serveware.
