What these events need from catering
At a press conference (記者會) guests usually arrive shortly before the start and leave soon after the Q&A, so food is light: drinks, pastries and small bites they can take while they wait. An opening reception (開幕茶會) is longer and more social, with a tea table or finger food through the whole event. A product launch often has both: a short presentation, then a reception where guests try the product and talk.
In all three, the table is part of the picture. Plan it like part of the set: where it stands, what is on it when the cameras arrive, and who keeps it tidy.
Timing around the programme
- Food ready and the table finished before the first guest or journalist arrives.
- Light items during registration and waiting; nothing loud or messy during speeches.
- A second wave of food for the reception after the presentation, if there is one.
- Clearing after guests leave, or quietly during the event with staffed service.
Venue and brand details
Shops, showrooms and offices often have little space and no kitchen. Tell us the floor area for the food table, power sockets, the loading route and when you can set up. If the event has a colour scheme or brand guidelines, share them: table decoration is an optional line in the quote, and we can plan around your colours.
Our dishes are illustrated on the menu with line drawings, not photographs of your event. If you need photos of the food table for press use, plan for your own photographer to take them.
Choosing a service level
For a short press conference, a set-up table (Signature) is often enough: everything is ready on arrival and collected after. For an opening or launch where the host team is busy with guests and media, staffed service (Prestige) keeps the table full and clears plates and cups while you work the room.
