What does vegan catering mean in Taiwan?
全素 or 純素 is fully plant-based, with no meat, fish, egg, dairy or honey. Many vegetarians in Taiwan also avoid the five pungent plants (五辛: onion, garlic, scallion, chives and leek). Some guests are 蛋奶素, who eat eggs and dairy. Ask each guest which type they follow and send the counts by type.
What we serve for vegan guests
- Meal boxes with vegetable buns, tofu and noodle or rice dishes, counted and labelled.
- Salads and sides, such as the avocado citrus salad, and fruit.
- A vegan line on a buffet, with its own spoons and labels.
- Desserts that the kitchen confirms are free of dairy and egg.
- Each dish, sauce and stock is checked with the supplying kitchen, and anything it cannot confirm is said plainly in the quote.
Guest count and service level
- 10 to 30 guests: boxes for the vegans, counted separately, with one or two spare.
- 30 to 60 guests: a buffet with a clearly marked vegan line. Choose setup so the table is ready.
- 60 to 100+ guests: staffed service, so one person manages the vegan dishes and replenishes them.
- A vegan label is not an allergy promise; for serious allergies, name the exact ingredient.
How to order
- Send the counts by type (for example 6 全素 without 五辛, 4 蛋奶素), the date, venue and food-ready time.
- Compare up to three menu options and get the exact quote by email.
- Requests sent before 6pm Taipei time get the quote the same day.
- We need at least 7 days before the event.
